We hope you will share a warm welcome to Alba Garza from Independentmami.net. Her blog helps those that may be overwhelmed with their own situation. Independentmami.net started out as an online journal of her single mother adventures, but it has become a log of things she has done wrong, right and learned from. Instead of keeping her journey to herself, she thought maybe she was not the only one who this could happen to so she decided to share her journey to help others. Welcome, Alba!

I started out my blog looking for a place to journal my thoughts and searching for others like me.  I have found I did find others like myself.  Mothers, single, and married.   Ladies who all are feeling exactly how I was and who were totally going through the same thing too.  Those who spoke my language.  I wasn't able to go to my mother or my family for advice.  Our Latina culture makes our experiences a bit different.  My blog speaks to many Latinas like me.  But my blog is not just for Latinas but for anyone sharing my motto, Live life, Do Not let It Live You!

My favorite animal from Seaworld is the rescued bald eagle, Star.  It was love at first sight.  Star fell from her nest and lost vision in one of her eyes.  When I was younger, and first learning about shaving.  I slipped and hit the side of my eye.  This is when I started having vision problems in my eyes.  Star was one of the first rescue animals I met.  She is beautiful.  She is an animal Ambassador.  She lives the life I want of a traveler and adventurer.  She gets to travel all over, many people get to see her and learn about her story.

Before I became a Seaworld Wildsider, I never knew how much they were involved with rescue and conservation.  My main focus as this year goes is to show people that side of Seaworld.  Not just the animals that have been rescued but also the people who do the rescuing.  This sit behind the scenes without being noticed or recognized by the outsiders looking in.  Last year, a rescue happen in Houston.  It really hit home that Seaworld was there.  I was so happy when I was able to see the manatee.  And Seaworld had a part in helping save that manatee.  I also got to meet the people who were doing the caring.  I heard their stories and the passion behind the words they share with us.

I think when I first wanted to become a Seaworld Wildsider, it was more for my kids.  I wanted them to learn about a place I only grew up knowing about and not actually visiting over the summer or throughout the year.  I grew up not going on vacations.  I wanted to share with others that we can take vacations, we can share happy memories with our kids, and make new memories.  I learned that kids are not the only ones who have not visited Seaworld.  My mother got to visit Seaworld, it was a dream come true for her, and it was like she was a kid again.  We can't forget about that generation.  Seaworld is for everyone.  I love being a Seaworld Wildsider because I am a big kid inside.  Everything Seaworld makes me happy.  It is a place I can just relax and have fun with my family.  And there is always so much to do.
